The best white chowder and clam cakes. Both were nice and hot and delicious. Plus the clam cakes were tasty, crispy, lots of clams and the perfect size....BIG!! We would definitely go back there to try something else. Although it was so good I might want to have it again! Lisa was the owner, a real nice person who we had a nice conversation with. Excellent food. Always my goto place for seafood. I always get the super sampler. Food is cooked perfectly. Kudos to the chef. The waitresses are very friendly and makes everyone feel at home. Prices are reasonable.

After an amazing day at the beach with my daughter we found this jewel on our way home. We decided to stop and I honestly do not regret it! This place is where you can get the best “food from home”. We loved it and we will be coming back. PS: the gentleman singing “Sweet Caroline” took me right back home. Thank you!!!

This place is small and informal, but the food I had was awesome! I had the hot lobster roll and BF had the cold one. Hand cut fries were delicious and not greasy. Clam chowder was wonderful, as was the slaw. The servers were awesome! We were just visiting and asked about things to do and go. Very helpful!! Highly recommend this place, although it’s a little hard to find, but well worth the trip.

We decided to try RJ's Cafe / New England Seafood this afternoon at 17753 Toledo Blade Blvd, Port Charlotte. We were pleasantly surprised and will definitely be back. We were greeted as soon as we came through the door and given menus and a few minutes to look around. The place was clean and warm and I noticed the whole place had license plates on the walls from Rhode Island and New Hampshire. It was quite unique and homey. In the corner there was an older gentleman who started playing guitar and singing songs that both my wife and I knew. He was pretty good and made us feel welcome right away. We were not too hungry so my wife ordered the Italian Stromboli and I ordered the Italian sub heated. When the food came it was nice and hot and looked great. My wife really enjoyed her Stromboli and said she was very happy with it. It was very tasty. My Italian sub was just the perfect size and was heated so the cheese melted and the bun was nice and crisp on the outside, but soft and chewy on the inside. You could tell that the bread was fresh. Next time we come we will be prepared and will have a better appetite. We will be back for sure as we both want to try some of their seafood. The prices are reasonable and the menu looks good. So come hungry and with some spare cash for the gentleman singer, who was there when we visited on a Friday afternoon after 4:00 PM. You should check it out. It is a good little place for a quiet meal.

Loved the deep fried whole belly clams. Tasted like lunch with mom when I was a kid in Boston. Service was excellent too. Not much atmosphere but I was there for the clams.

We dined at RJ's New England Seafood Restaurant on Toledo Blade Blvd just off Rt 776 in Port Charlotte yesterday evening that did honor to Buffalo's haddock fish fries that we've missed so much down here in Florida. It was fried to perfection, sweet and flaky. And the malt vinegar was great on the tasty fries. Definitely going back. The best part was this place is within a 5 minute ride from our new currently under construction house in the Cove @ Westport.

This mom and pops seafood joint has to be the best kept secret in all of Port Charlotte! As I sat looking over the menu, tourists and locals were passing through for their popular lobster bisque and lobster rolls. The staff is so humble and accommodating. Food did not take long to come out. Man, was I shocked at the quality in every bite. I had to sampler plate with fish, juicy & plump jumbo shrimp, coleslaw and fries. Everything was perfection. I will be back!!!!
